Family loss writing policy

A woman just signed a policy with me and her father passed over the weekend suddenly. How do you handle that on our end? I didn't know what to say so I apologized and did the normal sympathy thing while going over the signature pages and such. How would you handle that? It was awkward and she was a bit out of it so I gave her my card as usual and explained to her to contact me when everything is settled for any questions or anything at all.
